The establishment decision of the Faculty of Dentistry of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University was taken by the Council of Ministers on 15 June 2011 and the Faculty was officially established with the publication of the decision in the Official Gazette dated 03 July 2011. Dean Prof.Dr.Mücahit Eğri was appointed as the Dean of the Acting Committee. With the great support of Mustafa Sahin, the installation phase was completed quite quickly and in February 2013, he started to give his first patients and started to give training services by taking his first students at the beginning of the 2014 academic year. Our faculty served from February 2013 until the end of August 2017, in the department allocated to our faculty from the service building of the Faculty of Medicine. As of September 2017, our faculty will begin to provide education and health services from the new service building. In our faculty, there are 22 faculty members, 38 research assistants, 5 dentists and 65 faculty members and 20 administrative staff. At the end of the academic year 2017, the first graduates will give.
Although there has been a considerable increase in the last 10 years, the statistical data reveal that there are many dentists in our country. When these data are analyzed, it is seen that the number of dentists in Tokat is insufficient. It is understood that it is a good decision to open a faculty of dentistry in Tokat because it will contribute to meet the dentist needs of our country with the help of competent and successful dentists. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to this matter.
